Microneedling
Microneedling is the perfect treatment used to rejuvenate the skin and battle common skin conditions like acne scars, pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and stretch marks.
At Essential Beauty I use the Genosys Dermafix pen which is an electronic form of medical
microneedling.
During the procedure, tiny micro needles penetrate the skin to activate a natural collagen surge which also happens after injuries.
This encourages the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally - resulting in smoother, brighter, younger and tighter feeling healthier looking skin.
As the body detects the puncture of the needles, the healing process kicks in and the minute holes made during the treatment will rapidly close, allowing the skin to recover.
This increased surge of collagen leads to an improvement of your skin's appearance, adding to that firm feeling and giving it a really healthy glow. This works on repairing areas of skin that have been damaged by scarring or UV light also.
This new advanced treatment is accurately controlled by the therapist applying and ensuring the correct needle depth and speed of puncture pressure depending on your unique skin and each area that is worked on.
This is not a painful procedure, though skin will be pink afterwards and can be sensitive for a few days post treatment.

What results can I expect to see? Following the treatment your skin will start to naturally repair and regenerate itself. This will take some time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and the dermis (Second large layer of skin containing collagen and elastin and all the goodies) is rejuvenated. It can take up to 6 weeks before you see signs of this regeneration. This process will continue to work over the following months, leaving you with natural and long-lasting results. For optimal results I recommend at least 4 treatments done every 4-6 weeks.
Is this treatment suitable for me? The microneedling pen can be used on the face, neck and body and is effective on the skin of all ages and types. A detailed consultation will be given beforehand including your expectation and aftercare, with the chance to buy a mini selection of products suited to you as well as samples. Are there any side effects and will this change my features at all? Immediately after the procedure it is common to look as if you have slight sunburn, and your skin will feel warmer and tighter than normal. This will subside within a couple of hours and return to normal within 24-48 hours. After treatment it is important to use an SPF on your skin and suitable products to soothe and calm any aftereffects and enhance the result.
